Let’s Not Get Physical, Physical

The more I observe, the more I notice some people can’t distinguish which is art and which is pure chaos. They only see the physical appearance of the art without even fully grasp the meaning behind it. Granted art is subjective (hence me also being subjective in this case), it’s a personal interpretation of the artist, but I’m not talking about the artists. Artists are all creative, it’s the viewers that I feel annoy about.

I’ve met couple of people who said they “get” art and that their fave artists are bla bla, but when I specifically asked why do they admire the said artists, they can’t give me a proper response. And when they spot an art, they go on about it like they deeply understand the art.

You see, it’s the physical aspect that these people get, they’re too lazy to discover the meaning behind it, they only see but they don’t look or even try to understand. They just want people consider them as intellectuals lot.

Whatever the trend, you can bet these snobs are there in front of the line, showing off how trendy and updated they are with the latest trends. And no, I’m not even talking about fashion. As you know ever since global warming, a lot of people are trying to go green, right? Well, this is the kind of “trend” (according to them anyway) they’re following. They suddenly babble about how fast food is bad, how meditation is good, bla bla, again they only know the basic knowledge without even wanting to know the Why and the How. They just want to look good. They babble, and by babble I meant show off, about how they no longer consume red meat, but they still put on cosmetics that come from manufacturers that use animal testing. They suddenly tell people, who already know and are very aware of the latest environment issues, to turn off lights if they don’t use it. But they keep using unrenewable stuff.

I can’t even. Unbelievable.

It’s the physical, they only pay attention to what they see and read in 1 minute without even learn about it even further. If you really are concern with whatever issues you’re in, dig deeper, understand the bigger picture, don’t just read for a minute and suddenly babble about it to other people who already know and are ahead of you.

I know I took a risk of sounding like an arrogant bitch, but I really have to let these thoughts out.
